Croydon gets a mention because we all decided that the coffee and cakes were pretty good. Rob was so enthusiastic he had two coffees and two vanilla slices. The coffee shop was run by three women who also owned the hotel, the general store... and were assisted by a young swedish backpacker who spoke english like an Australian. There were quite a few young local males who drifted in and appeared quite keen to be served by the backpacker. Not being a coffee drinker I had the best milkshake for a long time and a very good vanilla slice. I must agree with Rob's assessment of the vanilla slice even though I only had one...!
