We over-nighted just out of Quilpie at Lake Houdraman. A few weeks before when the rains had passed through the SES pulled cars and vans out; the deep rutted roads were testament to the problem of the heavy black clay soil. Lake Houdraman is a very popular camping spot and the best spots were taken when we arrived, so we had to drive over the deeply rutted roads to get to our camping area.
