Over the last six years we have been to many places and met many interesting people. Here is a short list of some of the standout locations.

Tarra Valley

We found Tarra Valley at the end of the Grand Ridge Road at Bulook in 2018 and it immediately deposed Stretch Lagoon at the top of our list. Lyre birds, huge fern gullies, bubbling water and rain forest combined to make it number one. See more information HERE

Stretch Lagoon

Top of the list is Stretch Lagoon which we visited at the end of our trip up the Canning Stock Route (CSR). We stayed only a few days, to recover from the millions of corrugations and hundreds of sandhills, but loved it. We would love to return. See more information HERE

Durba Springs

Also on the CSR (Canning Stock Route) we had a rest day at Durba Springs. See more information HERE

Wyperfeld National Park

We have visited Wyperfeld many times, the first in 1974 and the most recent in 2014. Its beauty and the night stars are breath-taking with a serenity to be experienced. It is a desert but it is always green with lots and lots of wildflowers.

Whistlers Way

“Whistlers Way” is in the Leeuwin Naturaliste National Park on the coast of WA near Margaret River and has an observation deck which became the first Cafe Mobile (a term we now use for scenic spots where we either dine or have a cuppa).

Porcupine Gorge

Very close to Hughenden and the dinosaur triangle (Hughenden-Winton-Richmond) is the charming camping area of Porcupine Gorge. Experience Rufus Bettongs hopping between your feet and 100 million years of geology in the nearby rock faces.
